INTERVIEW Ox-Fanzine #107 (April/Mai 2013)

Now for the third time you will play with a "new" band at AK47, you always have to start again (maybe on slightly higher lever) ...
it's never a new start. A real punk band should never try to do new things, if you try then it's just NOT going to work. Just write good, short and catchy songs with memorable lyrics. And try to have black instruments. It's better. It looks better.

How is LA FLINGUE gonna sound like in relation to LES HATEPINK and IRRITONES?
Less guitar, more bass, less solos, more screamed vocals, more broken microphones, more hardcore t-shirts, anti-glam black shirts in fishnet. Gaffer-tape. Gaffer around the head is always good. It's relaxing.

Few years ago en Allemagne French bands seemed to be not on the radar?
Maybe. I'm not sure. I toured in Germany with Gasolheads, 13 years ago, with Hatepinks, Irritones and never saw french band booked. Maybe those French are just lazy and tough it was great enough to play for their friends in their boring little cities.

Sure: if you guys were an Amerivan band, THE BRIEFS would have been called "the Seattle-HATEPINKS"?
I don't know and i don't care. We were French, wich is way much better than American. I love the Damned, never minded that much about the Briefs.

And how about Deutsch punkbands in France? Cool Olivier Crapoulet is doing a good job, isn't he?
Deutsche punkbands are not so often to be seen around here, in Marseille. Maybe it's more active in the hardcore scene, with the Spastic Fantastic-Crapoulet Connexion... Olivier Crapoulet is a very active guy. We should go to tour south america soon, due to his contacts there.

And how the hell does a "Homo-pogo" look like?
Homo-pogo is just an ode to the kids dancing at shows. Nothing to do with homosexuality. It's used here in the sense of homo-sapiens or homo-erectus. You got it?

Dear, what kind of drugs do you sell?
We don't sell drugs. The Hatepinks became boring because of the drugs. This song title is about the dehumanization from the people living in big grey house in the suburds. Now the pigs and the politicians want them to be considerated as nothing else than drug dealers. Which they are not.

Or do you just shit on commercial things?
Yeas exactly we shit on commercial. Is Ox not a commercial fanzine? With ads? Ho shit.
